    Pet Owners Reminder

    🐾 Pet Owners Reminder 🐾

As we enjoy walking our pets throughout the community, please remember to follow the Town of Dyer's Animal Waste Ordinance.

Many children and families use our parks, trails, and green spaces for recreation and play. Recently, the amount of pet waste being left behind has increased and has become a concern for residents and park users.

Please do your part by cleaning up after your pets and properly disposing of waste. Together, we can help keep our parks, sidewalks, and public spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Town of Dyer Animal Waste Ordinance (Sec. 6-86):
The owner of every animal is responsible for removing any waste deposited by their animal on public walks, recreation areas, or private property.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep Dyer a great place to live! 🐶🐾🌳

    CGI Banner Sponsorship Program

As you are aware, the Town of Dyer, IN is dedicated to making our community a great place to live, work, shop and conduct business. With support from local businesses and organizations, Dyer was able to enjoy a series of custom designed decorative streetscape banners, which we have used to beautify our community streets.

The banners have been a valuable resource, helping us to deliver a great first impression to many of our community’s first-time visitors. Furthermore, it is without question that these banners have helped us reinforce our brand, brighten and invigorate our business districts and drive attention to our local merchants and organizations. The program also helps Dyer, IN by showcasing our community's economic vitality and the support of our local businesses and organizations.

Because of the ongoing success of the initiative, we are excited to announce that Dyer has qualified to acquire a brand-new series of banners, featuring an exciting new design theme. Outreach for the new display will be conducted by Community Showcase Banners, the same company who has helped us year after year.

Whether you are an original supporter or you are being offered this opportunity for your very first time, I encourage you to consider participating in this program, as it provides an excellent way to showcase your pride in the community.

I thank you for your continued investment and belief in Dyer’s potential.

Monon Corridor Update (Formerly West Lake Corridor Project)

The Monon Corridor is an 8-mile southern extension of the South Shore Line’s main Lakeshore Corridor, which is currently under construction. This new line will connect north Hammond to its final stop at the Munster/Dyer Station. The existing main line will continue to be called the Lakeshore Corridor.

Before service officially begins, test trains will operate along the new route to ensure all systems are running safely and efficiently. These test trains will not carry passengers and will help train onboard crews and dispatchers in preparation for the start of service.

The project is anticipated to be completed in the first quarter of 2026, though this timeline may be adjusted based on construction and testing progress. The South Shore Line will continue to share updates and keep communities informed as the Monon Corridor approaches its opening day.
