Town of Dyer has actively participated in America in Bloom (AIB) endeavors. In 2015, the town was a recipient of an America in Bloom/CN Railway grant, designed to help block the CN rail right-of-way from Hearthstone/Deercreek residential property. The awarded funds facilitated the planting of over 500 evergreens on the southern side of the tracks, north of Deercreek Drive. The town maintained the evergreens for a year before handing over the reins to the HOA.

AIB holds the belief that communities should be inviting and lively places to reside, be employed, and engage in recreational activities. Judges assess six key aspects of our town, including floral displays, landscaping, urban forestry, heritage preservation, environmental initiatives, and the overall impression of the residential, commercial, and municipal sectors. Following their evaluation, they provide recommendations and guidance to enhance these areas.

You can learn more about AIB at their website, americainbloom.org.
