Limbs and Branches
Branches should be 6-8 feet in length and no more than 10 inches in diameter. Branches should be placed in the parkway between the curb and sidewalk, not in the street, sidewalk or around a fire hydrant. The branches need to be stacked neatly at the curb with the cut end pointing toward the street. If too long, place them in the parkway with the cut end pointing towards the flow of traffic. Do not put anything else except tree branches in the pile. Putting other items in the pile can cause serious damage to the equipment or the operators of the machine. Twig piles that are smaller (typically 2' long by 1' wide by 1' high) should be placed in your garbage can for disposal.
Leaves
Leaves need to be placed in the parkway being careful to keep them off the street and away from the fire hydrants, sidewalks and street drains. Please make sure only leaves are placed in the pile, as anything else may cause harm to the leaf vacuum or operators of the equipment. In addition, do not put leaves in bags. The Department of Public Works will not remove bags filled with leaves.
Removal Schedule
For planning and pickup, the Town recommends that any limbs, branches or leaves be placed in the parkway during the weekend before your scheduled pick-up time. Each week, either the area north or south of US 30 has branch or leaf pick-up services. The map for branch and leaf removal services can be found here. Exceptions
The Town of Dyer does not pick up or accept any branch material from commercial properties or any tree removal work that is done by Contractors. Certain Planned Unit Developments (PUD's) are not provided with curbside pickup.
Garbage Pickup

Dumpster Access
The Town has dumpster access for Dyer residents at our Public Works facility Monday - Friday, 7am-3pm. Please see the folowing list of unacceptable materials here.

Electronic Recycling
Electronics are accepted at our Public Works Facility. Electronics are not accepted in your regular garbage pickup. To utilize our E-Recycling, simply check in at our Public Works Facility located at 516 Edmond Drive to show proof of Dyer residency. Once you are checked in, you may drop your electronics at the e-recycling pallets.
