At the county government level there are three Commissioners and a County Council. Commissioners negotiate all contracts, issue permits, and supervise and maintain all county properties. The County Council, comprised of seven members, is the fiscal and legislative body for the county. The Town of Dyer is represented by one commissioner and one councilperson.
