FEMA DISASTER ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Dyer residents whose homes or personal property were damaged by the August 11 storms may now apply for FEMA Individual Assistance.

Please note: This assistance is not administered by or directly associated with the Town of Dyer. These are federal resources now available following state and federal disaster declarations covering our area. Eligibility and funding decisions are determined by FEMA.

To get started:

Contact your insurance company and file a claim, if insured.

Take photos and videos of all damage before making repairs.

Gather the all information requested.

Complete FEMA’s online questionnaire and application:

https://www.disasterassistance.gov/

Residents may also apply by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362.

After applying, save your FEMA registration number and respond promptly if FEMA requests additional documents or schedules a property inspection.

Applying does not guarantee funding. FEMA assistance is based on eligibility and verified disaster-related needs. It generally cannot duplicate insurance payments and may not cover every loss.

Applying is free. FEMA representatives will never ask for payment to process an application. Please be cautious of scams.
