STORM RECOVERY UPDATE – TOWN OF DYER
As Dyer continues to recover from the recent storm, Town crews, Public Works employees, emergency personnel, contractors, utility crews, and community partners continue working throughout the community. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents throughout the recovery process.
🌳 TREE LIMB & DEBRIS CLEANUP
Public Works crews and contracted tree removal companies continue collecting storm-related tree limbs throughout Dyer.
- Place tree limbs and branches at the curb for collection.
- Keep limb piles clear of parked vehicles, fire hydrants, electrical boxes, and other obstructions so large equipment can safely access them.
- Residents and contractors may also bring tree limbs to the designated drop-off area at Dyer Public Works, 516 Edmond Drive.
- Do not place tree limbs or yard debris in residential dumpsters.
♻️ RESIDENTIAL DUMPSTER ACCESS
Dumpsters remain available for Dyer residents only at the following locations:
Dyer Public Works – 516 Edmond Drive
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Friday–Sunday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- A separate container is available for spoiled food.
Pheasant Hills Park – 2301 Nondorf Street
North side of the pond — available dawn to dusk.
Northgate Park – off Calumet Avenue
Available dawn to dusk.
Please place permitted items completely inside the dumpsters and help keep these locations clean and safe.
⚡ POWER & INDIVIDUAL HOME ISSUES
As widespread power restoration nears completion, some individual properties may still require repairs or additional coordination with NIPSCO before service can be restored.
If your home's weatherhead or other homeowner-owned electrical equipment is damaged, repairs may be required before power can safely be restored. Residents should contact the Dyer Building Department to verify that an electrician is properly licensed before hiring or providing payment.

Residents needing help or assistance connecting with available resources may contact the Town of Dyer at 219-865-6108.
Additional assistance may also be available through the St. John Township Trustee's Office at 219-865-2705.
📋 REPORT STORM DAMAGE
Residents who experienced storm-related property damage are encouraged to report it through Indiana 211. Damage reports help local and state officials document the overall impact of the storm and identify potential recovery needs and resources.
