STORM RECOVERY UPDATE – TOWN OF DYER

STORM RECOVERY UPDATE — TOWN OF DYER

The Town of Dyer remains actively engaged in recovery efforts following the recent storm. Public Works employees, emergency personnel, contractors, utility crews, volunteers, and community partners continue working throughout our community. We appreciate our residents’ continued patience and cooperation.

    IMPORTANT: STORM DEBRIS PICKUP DEADLINE

Residents should place all remaining storm-related tree limbs and debris at the curb as soon as possible.

Additional contracted assistance for storm-debris pickup will conclude on Monday, September 14. Please ensure your storm-related debris is at the curb before then so crews have the best opportunity to collect it while these additional resources remain available.

Keep all piles clear of parked vehicles, fire hydrants, electrical boxes, and other obstructions so large equipment can safely access them.

    NORMAL PUBLIC WORKS HOURS

Dyer Public Works now operates under the normal hours.

Dyer Public Works — 516 Edmond Drive

    Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

    Saturday–Sunday: Closed

    RESIDENT DUMPSTERS

A dumpster remains available for Dyer residents only at:

Dyer Public Works — 516 Edmond Drive

Please place all permitted items completely inside the dumpsters and help keep these locations clean and safe. Do not place tree limbs or yard debris in the dumpsters.

    FEMA DISASTER ASSISTANCE

Lake County residents affected by the storm may apply for federal disaster assistance and review available recovery resources through FEMA.

    Apply online: DisasterAssistance.gov

    FEMA Helpline: 1-800-621-3362

Eligibility is determined by FEMA. This federal assistance program is not administered by the Town of Dyer.

    GOSERV GLOBAL CLEANUP ASSISTANCE

GoServ Global volunteers are assisting Dyer residents who need additional hands-on help with storm cleanup, including downed trees, branches, debris, and storm-damaged property.

Priority will be given to residents who may not have the physical ability or resources to complete the work themselves.

To request GoServ assistance, contact Dyer Town Hall at 219-865-6108.

Please note: GoServ assistance is not intended for routine collection of limb piles already placed at the curb. Public Works crews and contractors are handling curbside limb collection.

    ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE AND DAMAGE REPORTING

Please continue checking on neighbors, seniors, and anyone who may need additional assistance.
