- Project partners include the Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission, Lake County Surveyor’s Office, Lake County Highway Department, and Franciscan Dyer Hospital.
- Channel stabilization and flood storage upstream and downstream of Hart Street.
- Stabilizes severely eroded streambanks
- Creates 14.5 acre-feet of online flood storage
- New floodplain benches will reduce sediment and nutrient loadings.
- New ditch configuration will provide opportunities for habitat restoration.
- Flood reduction benefits extend from the hospital to the pedestrian bridge.
- Maximum reduction = 0.8 feet
