Employment Opportunities

Dyer Parks & Recreation is always taking employment applications. Click here for an employment application. Applications can be submitted in person during regular business hours of Monday - Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm, at the Parks and Recreation office at Town Hall. Employment application forms are also available in person at the Parks and Recreation office during office hours.

Dyer Parks and Recreation has seasonal employment opportunities for a number of recreational activities each summer. Employment applications are reviewed throughout the year as program staffing needs are formed. Part-time office clerks, recreation program leaders, and recreation program coordinators are the three categories where staff are employed

Volunteer Opportunities

Dyer Parks & Recreation is always looking for volunteers for various programs and events. Such programs & events include the Daddy Daughter Dance, Wii Bowling, Jr. Leaders, Easter Egg Hunt, Office Assistant, Spring Craft Fair, Bike Parade, and many others. This is an excellent opportunity for seniors who would like to help out in the community, adults who are available at various times, and teens who need service hours. The Junior Leader application is available in the box to the left. The Junior Leader program is for youth in grades 6-12 who are looking to serve their community. Junior Leaders also gain experience in a work-type environment by helping staff who instruct the various recreational programs offered by Dyer Parks and Recreation.

Park Improvements Projects for 2022

The 2022 Park Improvement Projects consist of a wide range of enhancements as detailed below:

  • Improvements to Elmer Miller Park including splash pad development with required drainage, equipment and material, engineering, landscaping, water fountain, walking pathway connections, bath house and general park improvements.                        
     
  • Improvements to Pheasant Hills/ Cherry Hill Park including drainage, playground equipment with poured in place surfaces, engineering, water fountain, gravel walking path around existing pond, landscaping, walking pathway connections and general park improvements
     
  • Improvements to Central Park including landscaping, concession stand equipment and required software, security enhancements, engineering design for improvements within the south end to include recreational hard courts area, lighting, walking path connections, parking, accessible playground with pour in place surfaces, synthetic turf field, pavilions, required drainage, open grass fields for recreational activity, existing pavilion/ restroom upgrade and general park improvements.
     
  • Improvements to Eberly Park including the development of an accessible entry way that connects to existing playground/ walking path and general park improvements.
     
  • Miscellaneous items including design engineering for park improvements for Heritage Estates Park, park landscaping, technology upgrades for Plum Creek Center, park benches, picnic tables, bleachers, ball field maintenance equipment, security upgrades for pavilions and general park improvements for all parks.
