Full Description
The Park Board has entered into a lease for this land to increase the amount of open space in a continued effort to meet the demand for additional open space in the community. The plan for this site is to grade it and seed it to prepare it for soccer fields. Creating soccer fields here will open up additional space some of the other Town of Dyer parks for more recreational opportunity. While the lease with the Diocese does not allow for permanent structures, a green parking lot will be constructed with a stone base which allows grass to grow through. The Park Board is anticipating to award this project in September, 2009. The majority of the work is scheduled to get done in the fall of 2009 and the Park Board is hopeful to permit use of the site by the spring of 2011. An attachment shows a change in the development of this site which was necessitated to provide direct access to the park site rather than through the Bibich School parking lot.
